Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage - the largest herd of captive elephants in the world- was founded to provide care and protection to the many orphaned elephants found in the jungles of Sri Lanka. Bathing elephants from the broad riverbank, daily routine of the elephants, such as bottle feeding of elephant calves, feeding of all other elephants make is a pleasant site.
